Polemology
The scientific study of war
By Statlas Editorial · 1 min read
Polemology is the scientific and statistical study of war, its causes, patterns, and cycles, as opposed to purely narrative military history. Gaston Bouthoul (1896-1980, French sociologist) coined the term (from Greek polemos, war) and founded the French Institute of Polemology in 1945.
