The Correlates of War Project

Cataloging every interstate conflict since 1816

By Statlas Editorial · 1 min read

The Correlates of War Project is a systematic, data-driven effort to catalog and quantify every interstate conflict since 1816, enabling statistical analysis of war rather than purely theoretical explanation. J. David Singer (1925-2009, American political scientist) and Melvin Small (American historian) launched the project in 1963 at the University of Michigan.
